Itinerary
Your 7 nights 8 days holidays in Meghalaya begin with arrival at Guwahati. Our representative will greet you at the Guwahati airport or railway station and assist you in transferring from Guwahati to Shillong in a private cab.
On the way stop at the famous Umiam Lake. Enjoy the beautiful and picturesque view of the lake and relish your eyes seeing the surrounding beauty of Sylvan Hills.
On reaching Shillong, check in to your hotel and rest for a while. Later, you can enjoy sightseeing activities in Shillong.

Now, drive to Jowai to explore the beauty of Krang Suri Falls. It is a long 3.5 hours drive so we recommend starting the day early. The fall is located within the mountains and to get to the waterfall, you will need to walk along the mountain’s edge. Please note, the walking path is quite narrow and slippery route. To make the most of your visit, take a dip in the greenish-blue water of Krang Suri Fall and click Insta-worthy pictures with fall in the background. For those of you who don’t want to get soaked, you can even get behind the falls and relax and admire the view.
After spending an exciting day, head back to your hotel in Shillong for an overnight stay.
Savour a delicious breakfast at the hotel and get ready to drive from Shillong to Sohra (commercially known as Cherrapunjee). On the way, you will take a detour and explore Mawlynnong, the cleanest village in Asia and Dawki.
Drive to Mawlynnong village from Shillong. It is a 3-hour drive worth taking. On reaching, take a tour of the village and explore its surroundings. Explore the nearby Living Root Bridge in the East Khasi Hills which is made from the roots of hundred years old living trees. Also, check out the balancing rock and spend time interacting with locals.
Later, drive to Dawki village, which is 30 km away from Mawlynnong village and takes about 1.5 hours to reach. En route, enjoy a thrilling experience of riding in wooden boats on the beautiful Umngot River and witness the crystal-clear river water. The river water is so clean that you will be able to literally see through it.
Also, visit the Indo-Bangladesh border. While Dawki is the Indian village bordering Bangladesh, on the other side of the gate is Tamabil.
After spending an exciting day, drive to Cherrapunjee. Check-in at the hotel and spend the night in a comfortable hotel room.
Have an early breakfast at the hotel and get ready for an adventure-filled day. Today you will embark on a trek to the iconic Double Decker Living Root Bridges in Nongriat.
Drive to the starting point of the trek – Tyrna village. The journey begins with a steep descent of around 3,500 steps from Tyrna village, passing through lush forests, crystal-clear streams, and hanging bridges. Along the way, you will get to explore the serene beauty of Meghalaya’s untouched landscapes and vibrant local culture. Upon reaching Nongriat, witness the breathtaking root bridges, a testament to the harmony between humans and nature. Take a refreshing dip in natural pools, making for an unforgettable adventure.
After spending some time at the bridge, move further ahead to the Rainbow Falls. Fell the refreshing mist from the falls and witness the rainbow on the falls. It is a must-visit waterfall for its unparalleled natural beauty.
Begin the climb back to Tyrna and drive to your hotel in Cherrapunjee.

Begin by first visiting the Nohkalikai Falls. It is the tallest plunge waterfall in India, set 340 metres (1115 feet) high. Interestingly, it is also the 4th highest waterfall in the world. The fall offers breathtaking views amidst Meghalaya’s lush landscapes.
After witnessing the beauty of Nohkalikai Falls, you can check out the very famous Seven Sisters Falls (also known as Nohsngithiang Falls). It is a seven-segmented waterfall located in the East Khasi Hills. The vibrant colours of the rising and setting sun on the waterfalls are particularly beautiful.
