    • Welcome to Meghalaya, fondly called the home of clouds. After your arrival at Guwahati airport or train station, our representative will greet you and drive you to Shillong. The road distance is roughly 121.5 km and takes about 3 hours to reach.
    • Stop by the various sightseeing points in Shillong before arriving at your pre-booked hotel. You will get to see lakes, hills, waterfalls, and the charming natural beauty of Shillong.
    • The first stop is Bara Pani Lake (Umium Lake), the largest artificial lake in Meghalaya. It’s an ideal place for nature lovers and photo enthusiasts to relax and click photos. It is surrounded by Sylvan Hills which adds a picturesque beauty to the entire view.
    • Next, explore the Shillong Peak which is located at the height of 6449 m above sea level. The timing of the peak is from 9 AM to 3:30 PM (except Wednesday). If you want to trek all the way up, it’s a two hour trek but the view is absolutely worth it.
    • On the outskirts of Shillong, lies the lovely Elephant Falls which is a two-tier fall. It cascades on fern-covered rocks and forms a serene pool.The waterfall earned its name due to the presence of giant rock that resembled an elephant.

  • Day 01: Guwahati Airport/Train Station & Drive to Shillong (121.5 km / 3 hours approx)

    5 Nights 6 Days Meghalaya
    • Touch down in Guwahati where our tour representative will meet and greet you at the Airport/Train Station. Get a smooth transfer from Guwahati to Shillong.
    • On your way to Guwahati – Shillong highway, stop by Umiam Lake (Bara Pani Lake) surrounded by Sylvan hills. The lake is a popular recreational spot for water sport and adventure activities. Soak in the views and click photos around this lake.
    • Afterwards, reach your hotel and check-in and relax for a while. After your relaxing break at the hotel, head out to visit Don Bosco Museum which houses exhibits displaying culture, tradition, and heritage of the indigenous people.
    • After that, visit the Shillong Peak, which offers a bewitching panorama of Himalayan range, Bangladesh Plains, verdant stretches, and Shillong city. A hike to the highest point of Shillong peak takes about two hours.
    • Spend the evening exploring Police Bazaar which is the go to place in Shillong for shopping and dining. Explore cafes, restaurants, souvenirs stores and try some local street food.
    • Return to your hotel and catch a good sleep to wake up recharged for the next day.
    5 Nights 6 Days Meghalaya
  • Day 02: Shillong Sightseeing for All Day

    • Before leaving for sightseeing, have your breakfast at the hotel and then continue exploring the rest of the top attractions in Shillong.
    • Start off with Elephant Falls which is a beautiful waterfall that cascades down over fren covered moss and creates a small pond. The name of the waterfall was given by a British official after seeing an elephant-shaped rock near the waterfall. Click photos and soak in the views of nature around here.
    • Next attraction in Laitlum Canyons which will have quite the resemblance of Scottish highlands. The lush green vegetation stretches as far as one can see and instantly soothes the soul. This place also gives incredible trails for hiking and viewpoints for photography.
    • Ward’s Lake, also known as Pollock’s lake is a famous tourist site in Shillong. The manicured garden around the lake is equally beautiful, if not more. Boating, picnicking, strolling, photography are the best things to try here.
    • Return to hotel for dinner at overnight stay.
  • Day 03: Drive from Shillong to Cherrapunji (Sohra) (56.3 km / 2 hours approx)

    • Have breakfast at the hotel and complete the check out process. Thereafter, our tour manager will drive you from Shillong to Cherrapunji.
    • Take a stop over on Shillong - Cherrapunji Road and witness Mawkdok Dympep Valley view point. This V-shaped valley is carpeted with greenery and offers views of nature. You can try ziplining here which is about 1200 ft. long (at your own expense) and get refreshments from nearby stalls and eateries.
    • Wah Kaba Waterfalls is a spectacular waterfall that cascades from a steep rockface into a deep gorge. The thundering sounds of the waterfall hitting the rocks can be heard from a distance.
    • Next is Arwah Cave which is a limestone cave made of fascinating rock formations of stalagmites, stalactites, and marine fossils. You will find water droplets dripping from the low overhangs in the caves. This cave is a perfect example of geological artistry.
    • The Dain-Thlen Falls cuts through the hard rocks of the hills before it cascades down in verdant forests. According to folklore, a great battle was fought where a giant serpent who was the embodiment of evil was defeated.
    • Wei-Sawdong Falls is a three-tiered waterfall that cascades and clear blue water ponds at each tier. It is one of the most picturesque waterfalls in all of Meghalaya and is surrounded by lush greenery.
    • After all the cave exploration and waterfall visits, it is time to head back to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
  • Day 04: Cherrapunji (Sohra) to Nongriat Excursion

    • Enjoy breakfast at the hotel and get ready for an expedition from Cherrapunji (Sohra) to Nongriat. You will cover a short distance of 12.2 km via Sohra-Laitkynsew Rd and it takes about 30 minutes to reach.
    • The first attraction for day 4 is Nohkalikai Waterfalls which translates to the “Jump of Ka Likai”. It is the tallest plunge in India and fourth largest in the world and has a heart-wrenching lore attached to it. The waterfalls form a beautiful pond where you can stop by and take in the enchanting view.
    • Visit the valley where you will descend to find the double-decker root bridge, built by the Khasi tribe by weaving together the roots of rubber trees. And if time allows you can also visit the Rainbow waterfall.
    • If hiking down isn’t something you want to do then you can visit the Seven Sisters Falls in Nongriat Village and other offbeat attractions.
    • Return to hotel for dinner and overnight stay at Cherrapunji .
  • Day 05: Pynursla & Shnongpdeng to Dawki with O/N stay (31.0 km / 1 hours 6 mins)

    • Start your day at the hotel with an early breakfast and leave for Pynursla which is a paradise for nature lovers and photographers.
    • Then take a detour and visit Mawkyrnot to explore some more Living Root Bridges. These root bridges are significant from an environment, cultural and religious standpoint.
    • Take the route of Pynursla which will lead you to Dawki. It is an offbeat location but gaining massive popularity among tourists visiting Meghalaya. Later, drive to Shnongpdeng which has many riverside camps and adventure activities.
    • The day ends with your return to Dawki for an overnight stay.
  • Day 06: Departure from Dawki to Guwahati Airport/Train Station & Departure

    • Greet the new day in Meghalaya and watch a beautiful sunset. Nourish yourself with a breakfast buffet at the hotel and afterwards our representative will drive you from Dawki to Shillong, and then towards Guwahati Airport/Train Station.
    • The Meghalaya tour package for 6 days with eSikkim Tourism concludes and we part ways. Board your flight/train and return safely, carrying happy memories back home.
