By Air: If you believe in spending more time in the destination than travelling then book a flight to Bagdodra Airport in West Bengal. This is the nearest airport to Gangtok. Once you land here book a taxi or hop on for helicopter ride to Gangtok. There is also the Pakyong airport in Sikkim but since this is a small airport, not all flights land here. So, do a thorough research and book a flight that suits your time.
By Train: Train journeys are lovely isn’t it? You pass through the insides of a state and get to explore the beautiful country side. So if you want a fun filled journey to Gangtok then book a train to New Jalpaiguri Railway Station. This is closest to the beautiful city of Gangtok. Once you reach here, take a bus or book a cab to Gangtok.
By Road: For those that love travelling, road journeys are the best. And if Gangtok is the destination then a road journey is feasible. On the way, you will come across pristine lakes, waterfalls and valleys perfect for photographs. The journey by road to Gangtok is beautiful so if you have lots of time then head to Gangtok via road.

Nathula Pass on the other hand closes during winter season due to heavy snowfall.
