At a distance of 8-9 km is the holy shrine of Baba Harbhajan Singh who was a 22-year-old sepoy serving the Indian Army. While you are at Tsomgo, you can also visit the former Silk Route between India-China, the Nathu La Pass. It is the highest motorable road in the world located at the height of 4310 m. Essential Information

Visitors need special permits to visit Nathu La Pass which could be obtained after applying at the Tourism and Civil Aviation Department. One can easily request for one through registered tour operators. A single permit costs around INR 200. In order to prevent any havoc, you must apply for the permit a day before both for yourself and your vehicle.

As it is a restricted area, only Indian Nationals are allowed. The area is open for visitors from Wednesday-Sunday. It remains closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.
