Itinerary

Upon your arrival at Paro International Airport, our representative will give you a cordial welcome and lead you to your hotel in Phuentsholing. The drive from Paro to Phuentsholing is around 3 hours 30 minutes (142.7 km) but the journey is so beautiful that you will never want it to end.

Once you reach the hotel and complete your check-in formalities, you can head out for the sightseeing tour. Today, you will be visiting the Bhutan Gate. The gate is an architectural marvel of the kingdom. It is the only way through and fro India-Bhutan. Many tourists come here only to click a picture with the gate.

After the tour of the gate, you can visit the Phuentsholing Market and spend your leisure time shopping for souvenirs to take back home.
Post this tiring day, get some rest at the hotel.

Start your day with a healthy breakfast at the hotel and then continue with your sightseeing tour. Your first destination of the day is the Amo Chhu Crocodile Breeding Centre. This attraction is among the top places to visit in the town. Here you can catch a glimpse of the reptiles, up close and personal. You can watch them be fed and have a bath beside the ponds. You can also see endangered gharials, mugger crocodiles, migratory birds, tortoises and fishes in the water here.

Your next destination is the Zangto Pelri Lhakhang. Here you can watch the monks chant hymns and prayers all day long. The place is a spiritual hotspot and tourist from all around the globe visit the place. Here on the ground floor, there is Guru Rinpoche’s replica and on the 1st floor will also find 8 idols of Bodhisattva, Avalokiteshvara as well as Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal.

Your final destination in the city is the Torsa River Side. Come here for the sunset. The skyline during that time looks really mesmerizing and you can dip your feet in the river and watch the sunset and the silhouette of migratory birds flying over the azure water.

Later on, head back to your hotel for dinner and night stay.

Today you will be travelling to Thimphu via road. The journey is 3 hours 54 minutes (147.3 km) so have an early breakfast and start with your trip immediately.
Upon your arrival to the hotel, complete your check-in process and start with your day tour. The first destination in Thimphu will be the Tashichho Dzong. The Dzong is a fortress that currently serves both as a monastery and the main secretariat of the present government. It has a lovely rose garden in front of the building and a manicured garden surrounding the building. It is one of the landmarks of Thimphu that was first erected as a building of blue stones named imaginatively as Dho-Ngon Dzong.

Your next destination is the Buddha Dordenma. As soon as you enter the town of Thimphu you will be greeted by a 51 metres tall gold-plated statue of Buddha Dordenma. The entire statue is made up of steel and it is a sight to behold. The golden gilded statue at night shines against the dark sky and it looks beautiful.

Post this fun-filled day, it is time to head back to your hotel and catch up on some rest.

On day 4, you will travel to Wangdue via road. So, have an early breakfast at the hotel and head out for your 1 hour 51 minutes (70.2 km) journey to Wangdue.

Upon your arrival at the hotel in Wangdue, you can complete your check-in process and then head out for the city tour. Your first destination in the city will be the Wangduephodrang Dzong. The Dzong was once a spiritual hub but now since it was burnt to the ground in 2012, it is now the Army Training Centre. The place is still worth a visit because there is an Archery Ground in the complex. If you wish you can try your hand at the sport.

You can then head out to spend your leisure time, shopping for some souvenirs for your loved ones or interacting with the locals and trying out the different cuisines of the town.
Post that, head back to your hotel for the night stay.

Today you will be travelling all the way to Punakha, which is 2 hours 25 minutes (84.9 km) away by road. So, have an early morning breakfast and leave for your new destination.

Upon your arrival at the hotel, finish with your check-in formalities and then head out for the city tour. Today you will be going for the Samtengang Trek. The trek is easy and suitable for amateur trekkers. It offers some of the best views of the city and is one of the most acclaimed treks of all times.

After the trek, you will need some rest, so head back to the hotel and after dinner in the evening catch up on some sleep.

Have breakfast at the hotel and then continue with your city tour. The first destination in the city is The Temple of Sha Radap. A piece of strict advice is to wear traditional clothes at the temple and also photography is not allowed at the temple. Locals often pay a visit to this temple, which is also known as the Rada Lhakhang. It is dedicated to and houses the image of the guardian deity of the region known as Sha Radap.

Your next destination is the Adha and Rukha Villages. The villages are a place where one could camp in a tent or even opt for a homestay at a farmer’s house. The locals are warm and friendly and are happy to engage with the tourists.

The last visit will be to the Phobjikha Valley. The valley is one of the few glacial valleys in the country and is distinctly different from the others. This is due to the glacier that existed before that it is shaped like a bowl and attracts tourists from all over the world.

After this fun day, return to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

After your breakfast routine at the hotel, restart with your city tour. Your first destination is the Zangdo Pelri Temple. This temple is a religious hub that represents the blessings of the revered Guru Rinpochey.

After seeking some spiritual enlightenment at the temple you will visit the Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten. This beautiful monastery is situated at a ridge above the Punakha Valley. Built in the period of over 9 years, it’s a four-storey majestic temple. The architecture of the place will surprise you.

The final destination is the Sangchhen Dorji Lhuendrup Nunnery. This place sits atop a hill and commands the view of the gorgeous Punakha valley. It also overlooks the Wangduephodrang valley and both these views are to die for.

Post this exploration, return to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Today you will be travelling to Paro via road after early morning breakfast at the hotel. Once you reach Paro, you can complete your check-in formalities and after some rest, head out for the sightseeing tour. Your first destination in the city is the Chele La Pass.

The pass is one of the most visited passes in the entire kingdom. It is the highest motorable pass and it overlooks the Mt. Jomolhari and Mount Jitchu Drake. Located at 3810 m above sea level you can choose to hike, ride or drive to this pass.

Post this adventure, spend some time at the Paro Market and have fun shopping.

Later on, head back to your hotel to catch up on some sleep and rest.

Start your day with breakfast at the hotel and continue with your city tour. You will begin with the Tiger’s Nest. It is said to be one of the famous attractions spots for tourists and along with that, it is the more pictured location. There are many pictures of this place on the internet, representing Bhutan. It is located at a cliff is one of the must-visits of Paro.

Your next destination is the Namgay Artisanal Brewery. Here you can taste Paro’s local drink. You can try the Bhutan Dark Ale and the Bhutan Red Rice Lager. The Bhutan Red Rice Lager is brewed from red rice and The Dark Ale is made from the roasted burnt grains.

The last destination of the day is the Zuri Dzong Fort. The Haa Valley is a sweet spot tucked in the city. The fort is one of Bhutan’s oldest dzong and this ancient fortress was built in the mid-fourteenth century. It is a five storey tall edifice, which is known for its exemplary structure.
After the tour of the fort, head back to your hotel for the overnight stay.

Follow your breakfast routine at the hotel and then continue exploring the city. You will begin your tour with the Rinpung Dzong Monastery. The monastery is a site of beautiful Bhutanese architecture and it has been built with amazing precision. These structures are such that they are interlocked firmly without the use of nails and that is one of the highlights of the place. It is also hence called the ‘Fortress on a Heap of Jewels’.

Your next visit is to the Drukgyal Dzong Monastery. This place was once a fortress but is now in ruins after the fire of the 1950s. But it still provides with a great view of the Chomolhari mountains and hence it is a favourite among the tourists.

Finally, you will be visiting the National Museum of Bhutan. Here you will get to know about the myths and legends of the kingdom of Bhutan. The museum is also called the Ta Dzong, which means watchtower. It is shaped like a conch shell and the building is circular with seven floors.
