Bhutan Visa for Indians and Other Nationalities

  • An Indian Citizen must carry a valid passport and a voter’s ID card as proof of identity and citizenship.
  • Also carry two recent digital passport size photographs.
  • Indian nationals under the age of 18 can enter with a birth certificate or a passport. They must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.
  • Indian citizens can get a permit on arrival, but it is recommended to get the permit in advance to reduce the processing time.
  • The permit entry is valid for up to 14 days.

Bhutan Visa For Foreign Nationals

  • Foreign nationals (other than Indians) can apply for the tourist visa online by signing up at Bhutan Immigration Services Portal.

  3. Khur – Le –On your Bhutan trip, try sweet buckwheat pancakes that make for a perfect breakfast or snack.
  4. Momo –Although not a local Bhutanese dish, momo is eaten everywhere in Bhutan and is available at most restaurants and cafes.
  5. Kewa Datshi –Kewa Datshi is a dish prepared with potatoes, green chillies and cheese. The potatoes are diced or sliced into pieces and cooked with local cheese until it’s ready to serve hot.
  6. Phaksha paa –It is one of the most commonly consumed dishes in Bhutan, Phaksha paa is pork slices cooked in chillies and sauteed with onions, and vegetables. It is often served as a stew as well as a simmered down version.

    • You can reach Phuentsholing either by road/train from India or fly to Paro International Airport. The nearest railway station to Phuentsholing is Hasimara, which is a short drive away.
