SIKKIM BY TRAIN

Sikkim lacks a well-planned train route. The nearest railway station to Gangtok is the New Jalpaiguri railway station in Siliguri. It is approximately 148 kilometres away and is well connected to major cities like Kolkata, Mumbai, Guwahati and New Delhi. Onward journey from the New Jalpaiguri railway station is possible by road. Alternatively, you can take a taxi to reach Gangtok or head towards the Siliguri bus station and catch a state-run bus to reach the city. The bus will take about 5 to 6 hours run to reach Gangtok.
